Employee Spotlight: Kyle Cameron

We believe our strength lies in the dedication and curiosity of our team members—and few embody that spirit better than Kyle Cameron. As an Assistant Project Manager, Kyle brings a meticulous attention to detail and a passion for understanding how buildings come together, one code determination and drawing at a time.
A Look into Kyle’s Role
Since joining GGA Studios in July 2020, Kyle has been instrumental in navigating some of the city’s most nuanced construction and safety requirements. His work revolves around preparing and filing Construction Code Determinations (CCD-1s) and FDNY Letters of No Objection (LNOs), particularly in relation to critical site safety measures. Whether it’s coordinating temporary egress stairs, sidewalk sheds, hoist requirements, or standpipe systems during construction and demolition, Kyle ensures each detail is aligned with city codes and client needs.
On any given day, you’ll find Kyle drafting CCD-1s and LNOs, communicating with clients, reviewing project details, collaborating with CR Safety on site safety plans, compiling necessary documentation, and working directly with agencies like the DOB and FDNY. His scope also includes assisting with drawings for Tenant Protection Plans, Temporary Use Permits, and temporary construction fencing. He’s even delved into zoning feasibility studies, analyzing aspects like floor area ratios, setbacks, and parking requirements for future developments.

From Curiosity to Career
Kyle’s journey into construction management began with a simple curiosity: How are buildings actually built? That question turned into a calling. While earning his degree in Construction Management from Farmingdale State College, Kyle began working part-time at GGA Studios to complement his academic studies with hands-on industry experience. After graduating in May 2023, he transitioned to a full-time role—and has been growing with the team ever since.
What Fuels His Passion
Ask Kyle what he enjoys most about his work, and it’s clear he values the blend of learning and connection. He appreciates the collaborative culture at GGA Studios, the ongoing education in architecture and code compliance, and the strong professional relationships he’s built with clients over time. Every project is an opportunity to deepen his understanding and make a meaningful impact.

Tackling Today’s Challenges
One of the biggest challenges Kyle is currently facing? The waiting game. With CCD-1 reviews at the Department of Buildings taking four to five months—or longer—he’s had to manage both client expectations and coordination with DOB plan examiners. This means a great deal of follow-up, clear communication, and, at times, respectfully challenging agency interpretations to advocate for clients. While this issue remains a work in progress, Kyle handles it with professionalism and tenacity.
Beyond the Blueprints
Outside the office, Kyle embraces the great outdoors. Whether he's biking, hiking, kayaking, or swimming in the ocean, nature offers a refreshing balance to the structured world of city construction codes.
We’re proud to have Kyle on the GGA Studios team—a reliable problem-solver, an eager learner, and a thoughtful contributor to every project he touches.
