2025 Summer Internship: Joylyn Jun

I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Architecture at Syracuse University’s School of Architecture and will be entering my fourth year this fall. I first joined GGA Studios in June 2023 and was fortunate to return this summer as an intern, where I continued to apply my academic foundation to real-world challenges in architectural documentation and safety planning.
My day-to-day work focused on preparing Tenant Protection Plans (TPPs), Fire Safety Plans (FSPs), and Fire Protection Plans (FPPs) for active construction sites across New York City. Under the guidance of Karen Ramos and Brian Lall, I gained hands-on experience translating design information into clear, code-compliant safety diagrams that support both emergency responders and tenant safety. This process strengthened my CAD skills and deepened my understanding of how accuracy and clarity in technical documentation play a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance and safe implementation on-site.

What I value most about my internship experience is the GGA Studios team. Whether navigating project challenges or exploring new tools, the team has consistently supported and inspired me with their commitment, generosity, and passion for the field. It’s a workplace that truly encourages curiosity and belonging.
This fall, I’ll be studying abroad in London, where I look forward to exploring architecture through a global lens. As I take this next step, I carry with me the lessons, skills, and inspiration gained from my time at GGA Studios. I’m deeply thankful for the continued mentorship and support — and I hope to be back with GGA Studios next summer.
